Dmitry Kaminskiy, Managing Partner at Deep Knowledge Ventures (and member of the FinTECH4Life Steering Committee) has made some interesting wagers on longevity.
One is a bet with Dr. Alex Zhavoronkov, who runs Insilico Medicine. Presuming they both make it to 100 and it’s safe to they that they’re optimistic, the first to die will see (or not) the other receive one million dollars in Insilico stock.
The other offer on the table is one million dollars for the next person to beat the current longevity record of 122 years. The idea being that current research and a competitive will to live longer will drive someone to reach 123 years.
Research on ageing the and the limits of longevity are fascinating topics. Understanding the impact on all sorts of industries is crucial to future planning and strategy.
We can’t promise that the award will be granted at the upcoming FinTECH4Life conference, where we will discuss, among other things, the implication of longevity on the products and services required to best serve an ageing population but if you are currently 122 and fancy attending, get in touch.
